Through five straight series wins since the restart of their women's team, Malmö FF now got to play their home premiere in Damallsvenskan.
They brought with them a meritorious away win in the premiere against Häcken (3–2), who are seen as the big favorite for the SM gold this year.
However, it was not a match to remember for the Malmö players at Eleda stadium in front of just over 1,000 spectators. Already in the fifth minute, IFK Norrköping's Vesna Milivojevic scored the leading goal for the away team after tapping in a loose ball.
We are too passive. We don't get any aggressiveness. We struggle into the match, but have a lot to work on in the second half, said MFF's midfielder veteran Mia Persson to Viaplay during the break.
There was no improvement in the second half. Instead, the Serbian Milivojevic – who was born and raised in Australia – extended to 2–0 and put a finger to her mouth, as a message to the home crowd to be quiet.
