According to reports, the military has destroyed "two logistical camps used by Colombian Tancol groups" in Venezuela.
The operation is believed to be a way for the country to showcase its anti-drug efforts to the United States, which has forces nearby.
The raid found leaflets from the Colombian guerrilla group ELN, ammunition, all-terrain vehicles and fuel.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro says that authorities in the country have also stopped three planes in recent days that he claims were transporting drugs.
"The day before yesterday, a plane carrying drugs came in via the Caribbean. Our air force detected it in a second," Maduro said at an official appearance.
The president says two more planes were grounded on Wednesday. However, it is unclear how the stops were carried out, with Maduro describing the situation with the words "bam, boom, bang."
Tensions between the United States and Colombia and Venezuela have escalated since the United States carried out several attacks on boats allegedly carrying drugs.
The attacks have mainly been carried out off the coast of Venezuela, something that the country's President Nicolás Maduro has protested against.
