There is an enormous amount of narcotics. We have not been close to a seizure like this before, says the police's chief investigator Thomas Palmgren.
Talking to P4 Västerbotten, Palmgren says that it was in connection with a traffic operation along the E4, just south of Umeå, that a police officer became suspicious of a car and decided to follow and control it.
He does not want to answer exactly how much cocaine it is about, more than that it is about a "two-digit" number of kilos.
The arrested man is from southern Sweden and has previously been convicted of, among other things, robbery. The charge may be changed to aggravated narcotics offense.
