There are 18 rescue chambers that are used in evacuations or accidents that have been sabotaged, according to the newspaper. The lighting has been destroyed and electrical cables in the rooms have been cut.

The damage was discovered during a routine inspection round, according to LKAB, and is believed to have occurred sometime in December or January. Since it took a long time before the damage was discovered, the police do not think the incident can be investigated.

No traces could be secured, so the preliminary investigation has already been closed. If new information emerges, we can reopen the case, says Maria Linné, press spokesperson for the police in Police Region North, to SvD.

In September last year, a masked person broke into the area at the Per Geijer deposit. Staff who witnessed the incident thought it looked like the person was armed. The incident was reported to the police and the Security Service.

The week before the break-in, four machines in the same area were vandalized, including tires and hoses being slashed.
