Left-handed Usyk floored Dubois twice in the fifth round, the second time with a left hook, whereupon the eleven years younger Briton was counted out by the judge in a packed Wembley.
Usyk has thus regained the IBF belt, which he relinquished over a year ago, while he holds the WBA, WBC and WBO belts.
38, he is a young kid, said Usyk himself in the ring after the victory and added that he has hardly begun.
Oleksandr Usyk had already held all the world championship belts in heavyweight for a month last year, after defeating the Briton Tyson Fury. But the Ukrainian boxer was forced to relinquish the IBF belt when he did not face the challenger Daniel Dubois.
Usyk, who had already defeated Dubois in 2023, chose instead to focus on giving Fury, 36, a chance for revenge – a prestigious rematch that the Ukrainian also won in December.
Usyk was the first to defeat Fury and became, with that victory, the first undisputed heavyweight champion with all the belts in 24 years. A feat that he has now repeated.
Next meeting?
Maybe Tyson Fury, Derek Chisora or Anthony Joshua, maybe Joseph Parker, said Usyk after Saturday evening's victory.
