The decision on the package, which includes navigation systems and 3,350 long-range robots, comes after Thursday night's bloody Russian attack on Kyiv, where at least 17 people were killed.
The Trump administration has previously approved several packages of equipment to maintain existing weapons, but this appears to be the first major package of new weapons approved, reports CNN.
The USA is providing the financing together with Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway.
According to a source to CNN, the robots can be delivered later this year. It is still unclear whether there will be restrictions on how they may be used.
