In 2019, several investigations of Swedbank were initiated regarding the bank not handling suspected money laundering in its Baltic operations in accordance with applicable regulations.
Swedbank is still being investigated by the US Department of Justice and the New York State Department of Financial Services DFS. When those investigations will be completed is not known.
