Several of the aircraft used by the US government will receive a new color palette. When the new design is in place, the presidential plane will be painted blue, red, white, and gold.

The current design, which was introduced during the presidency of John F. Kennedy in the 1960s, features white and two shades of blue. But now the US Air Force has announced that the colors will be redesigned, Reuters reports.

President Donald Trump proposed a new design with a combination of red, white and blue - similar to the country's flag - during his first term. It now looks like he's getting his way, but with the addition of gold.

The US government has previously ordered new presidential planes, which will carry the updated color combination upon delivery.
