On Saturday, it was announced that Vice President JD Vance's wife Usha Vance will visit the island, officially to attend a dog sled race on March 29.
And soon after, Danmarks Radio could report that President Donald Trump's security adviser Mike Waltz is also traveling to Greenland. According to DR, Waltz has asked to meet with representatives of both Danish and Greenlandic representatives, but was given the cold shoulder.
None of the visits are official, but they have attracted attention in Denmark, and few would doubt the real intentions, according to political commentators.

Trump has several times expressed a desire to take over Greenland "in one way or another", which has not been appreciated in Copenhagen.
On Monday, Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen wrote on Facebook that she gives her wholehearted support to the Greenlandic party leaders who in a joint statement distanced themselves from Trump and his ideas of an American takeover.
"Our borders should be respected. Our territorial integrity should be respected and the Greenlandic people should be respected", she wrote.
