In the district court, the doctor was sentenced to seven years in prison for two rapes and eight cases of sexual abuse.
The court of appeal now convicts the man of ten cases of rape and sentences him to eight years in prison. The court also increases the amount that the man must pay in damages. He will now pay a total of approximately 1.9 million kronor to the victims.
The abuses occurred at two health centers, one in Uppsala and one in Stockholm.
The doctor has denied the crimes and said that everything he has done has been medically motivated.
