A military airport in northwestern Syria has been attacked by unidentified warplanes. According to a security source, forces from the country's defence ministry were at the airport.
Early Tuesday morning, unknown aircraft bombed the Abu Duhur military airport in Idlib province, the source told AFP.
No party has claimed responsibility for the attack on the air base, which suffered severe damage during the Syrian civil war.
AFP asked the Israeli military for comment, but was told “no comment.” Israel has repeatedly attacked Syria since December 2024, when longtime Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad was overthrown by Islamist forces that Israel considers jihadists.
