The UN updated on Friday a list of companies that cooperate with or have connections to Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territories. Over 150 companies were pointed out in the list.

The UN human rights commissioner Volker Türk has previously condemned Israel's official policy regarding settlements in the West Bank, and characterized the efforts as war crimes.

In the report from the UN human rights organization OHCHR, companies from among others France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the USA are on the list of 158 pointed out business activities. The list is not complete, emphasizes OHCHR, but is a marking regarding which companies are active in the occupied areas.

"This report underlines the responsibility for companies, which operate in a context of conflict, to ensure that their activities do not support abuses of human rights.

Among the companies are Airbnb and Booking.com and Tripadvisor in the travel industry, as well as Motorola solutions.

At the same time, several companies have been removed from the list since they changed their activities in the region.

An overwhelming majority of the companies on the list have Israel as their base. Israel rejected the list and said that it lacks legal grounds.
