Many Ukrainians are spending Christmas Eve with limited power after Tuesday's extensive Russian attacks on the country's energy infrastructure.

Repairs are expected to take several days, and in some parts of the country, up to a few weeks, after several power plants and parts of the national electricity grid were knocked out by Russian drones and robots.

Authorities have been forced to ration power in several regions with scheduled outages for a number of hours each day until the problems are resolved.

In Lviv, where residents are now experiencing up to ten hours of power outages per day, many have had to set their Christmas tables in the light of battery-powered lamps, reports the Efes news agency.

We celebrate Christmas today, together with our children, with twelve traditional dishes, says Lesja Kultchytska.

These are difficult times, so it will be a less lavish celebration.
