The announcement comes after Zelensky met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome on Tuesday afternoon.
“We had an excellent and very substantive discussion on all aspects of the diplomatic situation,” he writes.
Following Zelensky's talks with key European leaders in London and Brussels on Monday, the revised version of the White House's draft peace agreement has now been boiled down from 28 points to 20.
Zelenskyy's announcement on Tuesday evening is that the new draft is being fine-tuned in consultation with Europe and then sent to Washington.
"We are working today (Tuesday) and will continue tomorrow (Wednesday). I think we will hand it over tomorrow," Zelenskyy said at a question-and-answer session with journalists, AFP writes.
The two major stumbling blocks in the negotiations for the Ukrainian side are security guarantees and territory. An earlier US draft peace plan was called by critics a Russian wish list. Among other things, Ukraine would effectively give up occupied territories and little else, as well as agree to limit its military capabilities and renounce future military alliances.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine has neither the legal nor the moral right to give up land to Russia.
