Ukraine is investigating alternatives to Elon Musk's Starlink for satellite communication at the front line – since it emerged that the USA is threatening to cut off Ukraine's access to the satellite network.

It was on Saturday that media reports claimed that Washington is threatening to cut off Ukraine's access to Starlink – which is crucial for the Ukrainian army – if Kyiv refuses to sign an agreement giving the USA the right to Ukrainian rare earth metals in exchange for continued support.

There is a solution, there is an alternative. We are already working on this, says Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov at a press conference in Kyiv.

Ukraine has previously announced that it is not ready to sign an agreement with the USA on the rare earth metals because the conditions do not ensure the country's interests and lack necessary security guarantees.

Trump adviser Elon Musk, who owns Starlink, denies that the USA would have threatened to shut down Starlink in Ukraine and calls the allegations "false" on social media.
