”The repatriation measures, based on the results of the negotiations in Istanbul, will begin next week”, writes intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov in a post on social media.
The message comes after the countries have accused each other of not living up to the agreement reached on June 2 at a meeting in Istanbul.
During the meeting, the parties are said to have agreed to hand over all soldiers who are seriously injured, all soldiers between 18 and 25 years old, and the remains of 6,000 fallen soldiers.
A representative of Russia's negotiating delegation said earlier on Sunday that they were waiting for an official confirmation from Ukraine, but that they had received "signals" that the exchange would take place during the coming week, reports AP.
Initially, it was stated that the prisoner exchange would take place during the weekend.
