Two people who were arrested after a baby was found dead in a smaller town in the Skellefteå municipality have been released, reports SVT Västerbotten.
The individuals were arrested on suspicion of gross negligence leading to another's death.
Prosecutor Petra Hedberg, writes in an email to SVT that there is no suspicion that the two intentionally harmed the child.
"The child has, according to preliminary information from forensic medicine, likely died as a result of head trauma. If the child had received adequate care, there would have been good opportunities for survival," says the prosecutor.
The two are still crime suspects since they are suspected of failing to act when the child injured itself.
The alarm about the incident came on Monday. The child had already died when the ambulance and police arrived at the scene.
