Two Norwegian ski jumpers have been disqualified for faulty equipment at the World Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

First, Halvor Egner Granerud was disqualified after qualifying for the New Year's Day classic competition during the ski jumping week. His jumping suit was a few millimetres too short in the leg area.

Granerud was the best Norwegian in the qualifiers.

Then Anna Odine Strøm was disqualified after the women's competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen because her shoe sole did not comply with regulations.

Strøm has uneven hips, and the national team management compensated by adding a one-centimetre sole to one shoe, but they did not seek an exemption for this.

Strøm's eleventh place in the competition was thus annulled.

During last year's World Cup, two Norwegian ski jumpers were suspended after competing in illegal suits. Marius Lindvik was also stripped of his World Cup silver medal.
