The district court convicted two of the men, aged 25 and 26, of particularly serious drug offences. A 22-year-old man was convicted of serious drug offences and handling explosives. The 26-year-old was also convicted of aggravated assault and attempted aggravated blackmail.
The men were sentenced to between seven and eight years in prison for the crimes, which took place in Umeå and the surrounding area.
All three appealed the verdict. The Court of Appeal upheld large parts of the district court's verdict. However, the Court of Appeal classified two of the counts as ordinary offences instead of serious offences.
The 26-year-old and the 22-year-old each receive reduced sentences of six months.
