A superior Anaheim had already taken a huge hold on the game when Carlsson scored 5–0 at the end of the second period, his 15th goal of the season.
Right at the beginning of the third period, 6–0 also came from the hot Värmland team, a distinctive finish from close range in the power play.
"This was good. Everything worked out. We took care of both blue lines, worked hard and spent a lot of time in their zone," Carlsson said, according to Aftonbladet.
Anaheim completely dominated the game, shooting 53 shots. Not since 2014 has the team shot more than 50 shots in a single NHL game, according to the league's website.
With 46 saved shots, Arvid Söderblom set a new career best in Chicago's goal, but it was little consolation when he also had to let seven pucks pass him.
Leo Carlsson is seventh in the NHL's scoring league, where he is the best Swede with 38 points (16+22) in 29 games.
