The shooting took place on Florida State University's campus in Tallahassee. The two who were killed were not students at the university.

The 20-year-old suspect is a student at the university and is the son of a female police officer at the local police department. He is being treated at a hospital after being shot, according to CNN and NBC News.

A weapon allegedly belonging to the perpetrator's mother has been found at the crime scene.

Students on site tell local media about how they fled after hearing multiple shots being fired.

This is the second time a shooting has occurred at the university. In 2014, three people were shot and the perpetrator was killed by the police.
