The envoy, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, is making his first visit to Greenland in the role assigned to him by Trump last December.
The schedule includes a meeting with Greenlandic Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen on Monday, Nielsen confirmed to Danish TV 2.
The visit comes after the US president backed down in January from his repeated threats to take over Greenland. In the wake of that dispute, the US, Denmark and Greenland created a joint working group, which has not yet resulted in any agreement.
