The sculpture park, called the “National Garden of American Heroes,” is set to feature 250 life-size statues of national heroes - including President Abraham Lincoln and pilot Amelia Earhart. It will be built in West Potomac Park in the capital, Trump announced on Truth Social.
Trump launched the idea of a sculpture park during his first term, but the project has been plagued by problems, including budget challenges and finding a suitable location.
The sculpture park still needs to be formally approved by two committees.
In April, sources told CNN that it was unlikely the park would be completed in time for the country's 250th anniversary on July 4.
