On Truth Social, the US president wrote that it should be “mandatory” for countries to sign, mentioning Saudi Arabia and Qatar among others. He also wrote that it would be the “most important” agreement the countries have ever signed.
Trump also wrote that "it would be an honor" to see Iran sign the agreement and be part of "this unprecedented world coalition."
The Abraham Accords stipulate normalization of relations with Israel, but Saudi Arabia in particular has previously expressed doubts. According to AFP, ruling Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has told Trump that one requirement is that there is "a clear path" towards a two-state solution to the Palestinian issue.
In addition to Israel, four countries - the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan - have so far signed the agreements, which were concluded in 2020 at the initiative of Trump's first administration.
The countries Trump wants to see sign now are Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and Jordan.
