"Every time Iran kills an American soldier, they will pay many times over!" Trump writes on Truth Social, saying that the military leadership - from Secretary of War Pete Hegseth on down - has received this directive.
Last week, at least two American soldiers were killed in an Iranian attack on Jordan. President Trump has told the media that the latest US strike was carried out “in memory” of the soldiers killed.
Late last night, the US military command Centcom announced that it had launched the tenth consecutive night of strikes against Iran. The new attacks are being carried out, according to a message on social media, with the aim of “further reducing Iran’s military capabilities to attack merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.”
Following earlier attacks on Monday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said his country is now involved in a "full-scale war" against the United States, AFP writes.
