Trump says he will accept election results and work with Democrats

US President Donald Trump says he will accept the election results, adding that the Democrats did a “great job”. “I’m definitely willing to accept the results,” he tells The New York Times.

He tells The New York Times that he will cooperate with the Democrats and that he and his administration “look forward to it”.

We will probably find a solution.

Trump gives interviews to several media outlets and says, among other things, that the Democrats have done a “great job”.

I think the Democrats did a great job. I really think so. They fought hard, he says in an interview with Fox News, AFP reports.

Iran played a role

He also says he believes the Iran war played an important role in the election result.

I think Iran was part of it, but at the same time people understand the significance of what I have done regarding Iran, says the president.

In the early hours of the morning, local time in Sweden, the president also wrote on Truth Social. Among other things, he posted a picture of a red cap, similar to the Maga caps he and his supporters usually wear, but this time with the text “veto”.

“Should have won”

In a conversation with Politico, Trump also says that although he has the right to veto bills that end up on his desk, he “doesn’t want to sit there for two years and veto everything”.

He says he doesn’t want to “blame anyone” for the loss, but repeats to Politico something he wrote earlier on election night on Truth Social:

If I was on the ballot, we would have won. We would have won everything very easily.
