The president also said at his Halloween party at his Mar-a-Lago residence on Saturday night that he has no plans to meet Bolsonaro.
Bolsonaro left Brazil for the United States earlier this week after losing the presidential election. He has claimed that he left because he was being persecuted in Brazil, where he is suspected of corruption and money laundering.
The flight to the United States and the circumstances surrounding it have been the subject of much speculation, especially since Bolsonaro had been banned from travelling. Earlier this week, The New York Times reported that Donald Trump had ordered that Bolsonaro be granted a visa, while a White House employee was said to have arranged the plane he used.
