The decision applies to the former President Joe Biden, his family, and other key figures in the Biden administration – including the former Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump's opponent in the presidential election last autumn. The former Foreign Minister Antony Blinken and the former National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan are also blocked from classified information.
The former Foreign Minister and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's security clearance has also been revoked.
The decision also means that opposition leaders will no longer have exclusive access to federal authorities, but will require an escort.
The former Congresswoman Liz Cheney is also on the list of people who are now blocked from classified information by Trump.
