The European leaders again stressed the need for sanctions against Russia, according to the British Prime Minister's office.
Trump is to talk on the phone with Putin as part of the efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine.
"The leaders discussed the situation in Ukraine and the catastrophic costs of the war for both sides. Ahead of President Trump's conversation with President Putin tomorrow, the need for an unconditional ceasefire and for President Putin to take peace talks seriously was discussed", says a spokesperson for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in a statement.
"They also discussed the use of sanctions if Russia does not seriously engage in a ceasefire and peace talks", it says further.
