A noticeably pressured president has complained in yet another speech on the Truth Social platform that the Justice Department has to spend so much time on the "Democrat-inspired hoax."
This refers to the publication of all material from the investigation into the dead, convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which Congress decided on by a large majority in November.
Trump, whose name appears repeatedly in the investigation, claims that the Democrats “were the ones working with Epstein, not the Republicans.”
“Release all their names, shame them,” he writes.
The move comes after it became known that over a million new documents related to Epstein's case have been found by the FBI and prosecutors.
The work of masking the documents before publication, to protect victims of crime, is a process that could "take a few more weeks," the Justice Department says.
