Several high-ranking figures in the Iranian state apparatus have been killed in this weekend's Israeli and American attacks on Iran. Late Saturday, it was announced that Ali Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader, had also been killed.
Donald Trump calls the attacks effective and believes they can pave the way for a diplomatic solution.
"Because they really get beaten up," the president says.
He also claims that Iran's counterattacks, which have so far been directed at American military bases, have been "less" than he thought.
"We expected double that."
Donald Trump chose not to answer CBS's question about whether he sees the attacks on Iran as a war.
