The extension means that Tiktok will be allowed to remain in the USA until September 17.

In the fall of 2024, a law was adopted in the USA that prohibits the use of Tiktok in the country – as long as the app is owned by a Chinese company. The condition for Tiktok to be allowed to be used in the USA is that the app comes under American ownership.

"As he has said many times, President Trump does not want Tiktok to be shut down. The extension will apply for 90 days, the government will work during that time to ensure that the deal is completed so that Americans can continue to use Tiktok with the guarantee that their data is safe and secure", says the White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt in a statement according to AP.

This is the third time Trump extends the deadline.
