A large, blue-black mark on U.S. President Donald Trump's hand raised questions during the World Economic Forum in Davos. The explanation? Aspirin, according to the president.

On the flight home from Davos, Trump showed reporters his hand. He claimed that the bruise appeared when he hit a table - and explained its appearance by a high intake of the drug aspirin, which he takes for his heart.

"I would say take aspirin if you like your heart, but don't take aspirin if you don't want to bruise a little," he said, according to news site The Hill.

I take the big aspirin. And when you take the big aspirin, they say you get bruises.

Aspirin affects the blood's ability to clot, which can increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.

Trump, who is almost 80 years old, has been seen with large bruises on several occasions in the past year.
