It would be like opening up a whole new world and I think it will even be better for China, says Trump to Fox News on the presidential plane.

The US and China agreed over the weekend to reduce import tariffs against each other by many times over 100 percentage units within 90 days.

Trump says that the framework for a possible agreement involves a "very, very strong deal".

He says further that he can imagine negotiating directly with China's President Xi Jinping to bring such a deal to land, but that it may not be necessary.
