Trump and Netanyahu discuss Iran’s next move as Israel pushes for immediate strike

US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone this weekend, reportedly about the next move in the war against Iran.

Sources tell Axios that Netanyahu is pressuring Trump to strike Iran immediately after Tuesday’s US midterm elections, while Trump is reportedly willing to let the negotiations take their course.

An Israeli source described the conversation as “tough,” while an American source called it “candid.” Trump has confirmed that he discussed Iran with Netanyahu, but did not go into details.

On Sunday, Trump said there were still one or two Iranian targets the US needed to “take care of.” Iran warned that a new war could be more protracted.

According to AFP, Trump repeated his threat at a rally in Iowa, where he said he might “take the big sledgehammer” against Iran at some point.
