"Does it include the pardon that Joe gave to Hunter, the J-6 hostages, who have now been imprisoned for several years? Such abuse of the justice system", writes Trump on his social media platform Truth Social.
With the expression "J-6 hostages", he is referring to those who were convicted for the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Republican James Comer, who is the chairman of the investigative committee, also criticizes Joe Biden's decision to pardon his son.
"It is unfortunate that President Biden and his family, instead of acknowledging their decades of misconduct, do everything they can to avoid accountability", writes Comer on X.
Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter Biden, who was convicted of, among other things, weapons offenses, during the night leading up to Monday, Swedish time.
