The number of homes for sale decreased by two percent compared to the same month last year.

This is the first time in almost four years that supply on the housing market has decreased, according to statistics from the housing website Hemnet. The decrease in supply is mainly due to the fact that sales volume, especially in the single-family home market, has been relatively high during a lower period.

"After four years of steadily increasing supply of houses for sale, the trend has now been broken. This is because relatively many are being sold in relation to how many new homes are coming onto the market," says Erik Holmberg, market analyst at Hemnet, according to a press release.

The reduced supply of housing is visible in 12 of 21 counties. The supply is decreasing the most in Halland, with levels 15 percent lower than last year. Västerbotten, among others, is going against the trend, where supply increased by 11 percent in November compared to the same month last year.
