A tourist fell into a mine shaft in Filipstad on Tuesday, reports Nya Wermlands-Tidningen.
According to the police, two people were walking around the mine area when one of them came too close and fell into the shaft – a fall of approximately seven to nine meters.
A rescue operation was launched with several units from Filipstad, Kristinehamn, and Lesjöfors called to the scene.
The rescue personnel were lowered into the hole to provide pain relief, and the person was eventually lifted out with a suspected thigh fracture.
