The competition on the Bahamas is the Swedish world number five Ludvig Åberg's second start since he underwent surgery in early September to repair the meniscus in one of his knees.
He began the Hero World Challenge, led by the legendary Tiger Woods – who himself is not playing – with a 67-round (five under par) and was tied for third place after Thursday. After two days, he was tied for fifth place on –7 total.
However, during Saturday's so-called "moving day", he moved in the wrong direction. Åberg started with a bogey, but then followed with eleven straight pars when his putter was ice-cold.
On the 13th hole, he made a birdie, but on the subsequent par 4-hole, he made a three-putt for a bogey. A birdie on the 16th hole meant a par-round for the day (72 strokes) and he remains seven strokes under par total, which gives him a tied eighth place in the 20-player starting field.
Going into Sunday's final round, American Justin Thomas leads the competition on –17 total, one stroke ahead of his compatriot and world number one Scottie Scheffler.
