During January, eleven ticks were reported to the Swedish Veterinary Institute (SVA), while one more has been reported so far in February, according to SVT News Västernorrland.
The ticks have been found in Västra Götaland, Västernorrland, Örebro County, Värmland, Uppsala, Skåne, Norrbotten, Kalmar, Halland and Dalarna.
It seems to be able to adapt to the conditions we have, says Anna Omazic, researcher at SVA, to SVT.
It was similar to last year, when the winter was milder. There are still one or two ticks every other day.
