The 17-year-old man was released on Friday night but is still suspected of attempted assault, assault, violent resistance, threats against an official, and breach of the Public Order Act.
And on Friday, it was announced that he would be banned from entering sports facilities for a maximum of three years. This means that he will not be allowed to be present at sports facilities in Sweden while a football match is in progress.
We cannot have people behaving like this in the arenas, says prosecutor Mats Ihlbom to the newspaper.
Öster player to be questioned
It was after more than an hour of play in Thursday's Allsvenskan football match between IFK Göteborg and Öster at Gamla Ullevi in Göteborg that a man with a blue and white scarf entered the pitch from the stands and attacked the visiting team's Sebastian Starke Hedlund.
The Öster player is the injured party but had not yet been questioned on Friday, says Mats Ihlbom. Nor had the 17-year-old been questioned sufficiently.
He will have a defender and the interrogations will be held in a special order, says Ihlbom to GP.
The match was resumed
The man's young age does not affect the ban, says the prosecutor.
As regards the ban, it doesn't play a major role. But since he is under 18, all rules regarding young offenders apply. Then we have special rules to adhere to.
After a longer game interruption, it was decided to resume the match, something that has been criticized afterwards. Sebastian Starke Hedlund is one of those who has wondered about the decision.
When I found out, I felt anger. I was really damn angry. I thought the only right thing was to stop the match, but I don't know what the rules are, he said to Max.
