Three Russian brothers have been sentenced to 17 years in prison each for attempting to join a Russian resistance group fighting for Kiev.
The men, aged 17 to 24, were found guilty of treason, participating in a terrorist group, and attempting to make their way to Ukraine.
According to the Moscow court, the brothers attempted to cross the border on foot in July last year to join the Russian Liberation Legion (LSR).
LSR is one of a series of international units fighting alongside Ukraine's military, with the common goal of "liberating" Russia from Vladimir Putin. Moscow has labeled LSR as a terrorist group.
