These are two attacks. One was directed at the Odesa region in southern Ukraine, where a civilian ship was hit and two people were killed. The other was a strike on two merchant ships in the Black Sea, where a ship captain was killed.
Russia regularly attacks Ukrainian ports, not least around Odesa.
At the same time, Ukraine has escalated its attacks on ships in the Sea of Azov, which serves as an important transport route for Russian agricultural products and for supplying occupied Crimea.
