The three fighters were killed and four more wounded in an airstrike targeting Kirkuk in northern Iraq, the Iran-backed Shiite militia People's Mobilization Forces (PMF) said in a statement on Saturday.
The PMF, which is now part of Iraq's armed forces, blamed the attack on the US and Israel in the statement.
On Saturday evening, French President Emmanuel Macron wrote on X that he had spoken with the president of the autonomous Kurdistan Region.
"Everything must be done to prevent Iraq from being drawn into the ongoing escalation," the French president said.
