“Our message to the Russians is clear: their state must end the war,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy writes.
In Sunday's post, he notes that Ukrainian drones managed to attack Moscow despite the city's distance from Ukraine and its strong air defenses.
Shortly before that, Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov announced via Telegram that at least three people had been killed in drone strikes and twelve injured. One person was reported to still be trapped under the rubble of a residential building.
Another person is reported to have been killed in a Ukrainian drone strike on the border region of Belgorod, according to authorities.
The Defense Ministry in Moscow claims, according to AFP, that over 550 Ukrainian drones were shot down by Russian air defenses overnight into Sunday and another 30 after dawn. Drones are said to have been neutralized in more than 14 regions, as well as in Crimea annexed by Russia.
Zelenskyy, for his part, writes on X that Russia has fired over 3,170 attack drones, 1,300 guided aerial bombs and 74 missiles at Ukraine over the past week, resulting in 52 deaths and nearly 350 injuries.
