Sweden – if they advance – will enter the tournament with a first match against Tunisia in Monterrey, Mexico. That match kicks off at 04:00 Swedish time on June 15.
The Netherlands then awaits in Houston on Midsummer's Day, June 20, with kick-off at 7:00 PM, before the group stage concludes against Japan in Dallas on June 26, when the ball gets rolling at 1:00 AM.
But before the World Cup dream can continue, a nerve-wracking playoff awaits. Sweden will face Ukraine on neutral ground in the semi-final in March. If they win, they will face Poland or Albania in the playoff final – on home soil, too.
The winner there secures a place in the historic, expanded World Cup, which for the first time will be played with 48 participating nations.
