One Formula 1 title weighs heavily, four weighs heavier. Despite bonuses from his newly won championship title, Lando Norris is far from the best paid on the grid. According to Spanish Marca , the Briton's salary for 2025, including bonuses, is not even half that of World Championship runner-up Max Verstappen.
According to reports, Norris's base salary from McLaren is $20 million, equivalent to approximately 188 million Swedish kronor. Add to that the standard bonus for a world championship title, five million dollars, and half a million for each of his seven GP victories during the season. Almost 30 million is a breathtaking sum for most people, but not in an F1 context. And to get to the top, it seems that more than one world championship title is required.
At the top is the giant of recent years, Max Verstappen. Red Bull reportedly pays the four-time world champion $65 million per year, not including bonuses. Right behind him is Lewis Hamilton, who is reported to have a base salary of around $60 million. However, both drivers are estimated to earn over $100 million with bonuses from the wealthy Red Bull and Ferrari teams and sponsorship deals included.
