According to a statement from the government, the country is to increase consumption by raising incomes and introducing incentives to increase childbirth in the country, reports the state-controlled news agency New China.
It involves, among other things, introducing subsidies for childcare and promoting a "reasonable growth" of wages.
According to the statement, the government will also implement measures to "stabilize the stock and real estate markets".
Increasing consumption has been a challenge for China since the pandemic. Retail trade has been on its knees and in February, the country showed deflation for the first time in over a year.
The stock exchanges in China rose sharply on Friday when it became clear that measures to increase consumption would be presented at a press conference on Monday.
