The average interest rate for variable mortgages was 2.65 percent in November, according to a review from the comparison service Zmarta.

This is a decrease from October's average interest rate of 2.66 percent. The lowest interest rate in November was at Skandiabanken, which offered its customers a variable interest rate of 2.52 percent. The highest in the compilation was Ikano Bank, which had an average interest rate of 2.78 percent.

The average interest rate on mortgage rates with a three-year fixed term also fell slightly, while interest rates with a five-year fixed term began to rise.

"The fact that we see a tendency to rise among some of the fixed average interest rates is a clear break in the trend," says Charlie Tideman, household economist at Zmarta, in a press release.

The compilation includes a total of 13 banks.
