The 27-year-old dominated the midfield during this summer's European Championship finals and then chose to leave one big club for another. Julia Zigiotto Olme is now a key player in Super League side Manchester United.
"I myself feel that I have taken big steps both in the club team and in the national team during 2025, that I have grown as a player with a lot of confidence and playing time. I have become more confident in the passing game and in my understanding of the game in defensive work," she says.
Brighton and England international Yasin Ayari, 22, had his international breakthrough during the year, becoming a regular in both the Premier League and the national team. He is now also the midfielder of the year.
"It means a lot, it's proof once again that what you put in, you get back, there's nothing you can cheat your way through," he says.
